After starting the year with an overtime loss on the road vs a strong opponent, the Denver Nuggets returned home and had an opportunity to bounce back against a bad team.
They didn’t disappoint.
The Nuggets looked the part of a great team on Saturday night, taking advantage of the weaknesses of the Phoenix Suns every time down the floor offensively. Denver didn’t even shoot well, but they consistently generated great shots and simply overwhelmed the Suns. That’s going to be a common occurrence this season if the Nuggets approach games the right way consistently.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn reacts to the Denver Nuggets 133-111 blowout win over the Phoenix Suns in Denver’s home opener at Ball Arena. The fans were treated to a show, and the performances were more consistent across the board. Ryan discusses Nikola Jokic’s facilitating game, Aaron Gordon’s dunk, another good game from Jamal Murray and the bench, and more.
Pickaxe and Roll is the flagship Denver Nuggets show on Mile High Sports, posting every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (unless otherwise specified). Ryan Blackburn breaks down the Nuggets in detail, bringing news, analytics, rotations, and more into a show for hardcore Nuggets fans.
