The final game of 2024 was an interesting one for the Denver Nuggets.
Nikola Jokic put up an insane stat line. Russell Westbrook matched him in a stat line of such rarity. The Nuggets got a double-digit win over the Utah Jazz and didn’t have to try too hard for it. This was the exact kind of win the Nuggets should be hoping for going forward, a nondescript win over a sub 0.500 opponent on the road where guys can give less than 100% effort to get the job done.
Jamal Murray also contributed to some unique stats with 10 assists of his own. Christian Braun had a bunch of fast break points and played some good defense. Michael Porter Jr. was in the exact role he needed to be going forward.
Overall, a solid if unspectacular win for the Nuggets in Salt Lake City.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn breaks down the Denver Nuggets comfortable win over the Utah Jazz on Monday night with both Nikola Jokic and Russell Westbrook going for impressive triple-doubles. The Nuggets set some records and got back on track against a bad team. Ryan discusses the game, Westbrook’s fit with the team, and 2024 in review.
