Thursday afternoon, the Colorado Rockies announced they have signed both their second and third picks of the the 2015 MLB first year player draft, Mike Nikorak and Tyler Nevin.

Nikorak, the 27th overall pick in last week’s draft is a right handed pitcher out of Stoudsburg High School in Pennsylvania where in his junior year he posted a 1.01 ERA and 66 strikeouts in 47 2/3 innings. The 6-foot-5 220 pounder is known for throwing fastballs in the mid-90s and batting a sterling .460.

According to MLB.com’s Jim Callis, Nikorak’s signing bonus is worth $2.3 million, $295,000 above slot value.

The Rockies have also signed their third pick, No. 38 overall in Nevin, to a contract bonus around $1.6 million. The third baseman out of Poway High School just outside of San Diego is the son of Phil Nevin, most known for his seven-year stint with the San Diego Padres. He currently manages the Diamondbacks’ Triple-A farm team, the Reno Aces.

Along with Rockies top pick, shortstop Brendan Rodgers (No. 3 overall), will join Nikorak and Nevin to the Grand Junction Rockies where they will begin their rookie careers.
