The Denver Broncos’ dominant 26-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 changed their narrative. Not only did it solidify their position as a potential force to be reckoned with in the NFL, but it has also earned them well-deserved recognition from Pro Football Focus.

Offense

Quarterback Bo Nix has experienced a significant turnaround in his performance, climbing from the bottom of the PFF rankings to secure the third-highest offensive grade of 74.1. Previously reliant on his strong running skills to inflate his overall grade, Nix has demonstrated a well-rounded improvement this week, earning an impressive 72.0 for running and a respectable 71.6 for passing. His grade placed him in the top 10 amongst all quarterbacks in Week 3.

Guard Quinn Meinerz stole the show on the offensive line, earning the highest grade on offense of 76.7. Right tackle Garett Bolles wasn’t far behind with a 71.8, a significant improvement from his 45.9 grade the previous week. The Broncos’ offensive resurgence in Week 3 can be attributed, in part, to the exceptional performance of their offensive line.

Courtland Sutton had his performance this season, earning the second-highest offensive grade of 75.6. He hauled in seven receptions for 68 yards. Marvin Mims was the next highest wide receiver with 62.8, while Josh Reynolds received a 58.1.

Jaleel McLaughlin earned a 69.8 grade despite averaging only 1.4 yards per carry. However, his highlight was an impressive touchdown where he showcased his ability to juke. Tyler Badie, who just got promoted to the 53-man roster, wasn’t far behind with a 68.4 grade. Badie led the running backs with nine carries for 70 yards, including a 43-yard run.

The tight end position struggled, with Greg Dulcich earning the lowest offensive grade of 40.2. Nate Adkins followed closely behind with a grade of 48.9, the second-worst among offensive players.

Defense

Safety Brandon Jones not only led the Denver defense in performance but also ranked second among all defensive players in the league with a remarkable 92.8 grade. His first-quarter interception was a pivotal moment that set the tone for the Broncos’ victory.

Cornerback Riley Moss also excelled, earning a 91.1 grade. Linebacker Cody Barton’s tackling prowess was instrumental, earning him the third-highest grade of 83.2.

While Patrick Surtain II limited Mike Evans to just two receptions for 17 yards, his 67.2 grade was somewhat puzzling. Defensive end Zach Allen’s 56.4 grade was also unexpected, especially considering five pressures and two tackles.

Linebacker Jonah Elliss, who had been near the top of the rankings in Week 2, experienced a significant drop in Week 3, earning a disappointing 35.0 grade.

Special Teams

Tanner McCallister led the special teams unit with a 77.1 grade. Punter Riley Dixon earned a 60.6, while kicker Will Lutz continued his perfect streak, making all four field goal attempts and receiving a 60.0 grade.

The Denver Broncos will look to start a winning streak against the New York Jets on Sunday.
