It’s always enjoyable when you don’t expect a win but find a way to make it happen.

Down three starters, the Denver Nuggets went into Golden State last night and earned a big win over the Warriors. Led by Aaron Gordon’s scoring and Russell Westbrook’s playmaking and hustle, the Nuggets found a way to get it done against one of the hottest teams in the NBA. With Nikola Jokic looking like a cyborg with how many heating and ice packs he has on during games, and Jamal Murray spraining his ankle on Saturday, the Nuggets needed to rest their stars no matter what. It’s far more palatable to do so in a win than a loss against a potential playoff opponent.

On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan Blackburn breaks down the Nuggets huge win over the Golden State Warriors without Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, or Christian Braun. It was Aaron Gordon, Russell Westbrook, Michael Porter Jr., and a whole host of Nuggets that stepped up to match Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green.

Ryan breaks down the win, some surprise performances, and more.
