Tying for the National League lead in home runs in each of the last two seasons, Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado has a little pop in his bat. Luckily for the them, it doesn’t look like it has dissipated this spring, if the World Baseball Classic is any indication.
Playing for Team USA, Arenado came up big in the squad’s 8-0 victory over Canada on Sunday, launching a three-run home run during the second inning.
Thanks to the win, the United States will have Monday off. If they would have lost, they would have been forced to play Columbia in a tie-breaker. They now advance to the second round, boasting a record of 2-1.
