What does a .458 batting average, four home runs and 13 RBIs (among other things) get you? If you do it in the span of a week and you’re Nolan Arenado, it gets you the National League Player of the Week.
Arenado posted a slash line of .458/.480/1.000 with nine runs scored, a double, four home runs and 13 RBIs over five games to claim his fourth career NL Player of the Week Award, and first since April 18 of last season.
The highlight of Arenado’s stellar week was a five-hit, three-homer, seven-RBI performance against the Padres on July 19.

On the 2017 season, Arenado ranks first in the National League in RBIs (86), 11th in home runs (22), third in hits (122), and tied for second in doubles (31).
This is Colorado’s second Player of the Week Award this season, following Arenado’s fellow All-Star teammate Charlie Blackmon, who took home weekly honors for the period ending May 28.
Arenado also won the award for the weeks of April 11-17, 2016; June 22-28, 2015 and August 18-24, 2014.
