On the day he was named the second consecutive Colorado Rockies player to win a National League Player of the Week award, Nolan Arenado showed exactly why he’s collecting hardware at an astounding rate.
The three-time Gold Glove winner (now in his fourth year in the league – you do the math), made this dazzling play to rob Cincinnati’s Billy Hamilton of a bunt for a base hit.

Hamilton is one of the best in the business at laying down bunts for base hits, but he seemingly forgot that Arenado is the best in the business at barehanding the ball and gunning down even the speediest of base runners.
Just a few hours prior, Arenado had been named a co-player of the week (along with reigning NL MVP Bryce Harper).

Arenado hit .333 with four home runs, 12 RBIs and seven runs scored last week to help Colorado secure series wins against San Francisco and Chicago. He also played his usual otherworldly defense (as evidenced above).
The Rockies beat the Reds on Monday, 5-1. Arenado scored twice and had two hits in the win.
