The Denver Nuggets have assigned rookie guard Malik Beasley to the NBA’s developmental league, general manager Tim Connelly announced Friday.
Beasley was the 19th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, but due to a steady diet of guards in front of him he has not seen much playing time for Michael Malone this season. Beasley has appeared in nine games this season, averaging 2.9 points in six minutes per game.
Beasley scored a career-high 12 points in a 125-101 loss to Golden State on Nov. 10.
In one year at Florida State Beasley averaged 15.6 points and 5.3 rebounds. The Seminoles finished with 20 wins and competed in the NIT, but were just 8-11 in the ACC.
Beasley has been assigned to Sioux Falls SkyForce and will be eligible to play starting on December 11.
The Nuggets roster now sits at 14 players.
