Despite an impressive fourth quarter, the Denver Nuggets couldn’t get past the Brooklyn Nets Thursday in the Las Vegas Summer League tournament, losing by a score of 85-74.
The Nuggets outscored the Nets by eight points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to make up for the slow start and get the comeback win. Tyler Lydon had another quiet night, failing to score and pulling down just three rebounds in his 12 minutes on the floor.
Torrey Craig continued to impress with another solid night. He scored 14 points and paired that with five rebounds and just a single turnover in 25 minutes of playing time. Malik Beasley bounced back after a rough night on Wednesday, scoring 20 points and filling up the rest of the stat sheet with seven rebounds, a pair of assists, and a block.
With the loss, the Nuggets fall to 1-4 in Las Vegas and knock themselves out of Summer League tournament contention. Denver will be back in action Friday evening in the consolation bracket of the Summer League tournament. Friday’s game will be against the New Orleans Pelicans, who are also 1-4, and will tip off at 6 p.m. mountain time.
