Nuggets draft Nikola Radicevic in 2nd round

With all the hype surrounding the Denver Nuggets selection of Emmanuel Mudiay with 7^th overall pick in the NBA Draft last night, it’s understandable the Nuggets second round pick got very little media buzz. Regardless, the Nuggets took the international route with the pick, a familiar decision considering recent Nuggets drafts.

Nikola Radicevic out of Serbia was the 57^th overall pick by the Nuggets. The 6-foot-5 200-pound Radicevic is a point guard who last played in Spain with Baloncesto Sevilla, a team he signed a 5-year contract with back in 2012. He was actually teammates with the Knick’s first-round pick in the draft, Kristapas Porzingis.

This past season Radicevic averaged 7.2 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.3 rebounds in 21.3 minutes. Still only 21-years-old, Radicevic is a big point guard similar to the Nuggets first pick with Mudiay.

Expect Radicevic to continue to play in Spain’s Liga ACB with Sevilla for a couple more years to develop his game and athleticism. Next summer’s summer league action may be the first time Radicevic dawns a Nugget jersey.
