The Denver Broncos offensive line had a tough go of it in 2016. With more than a few upgrades made in the offseason, the Broncos are ready to bring a new look to the front five.
Center Matt Paradis spoke with Eric Goodman and Les Shapiro on the Afternoon Drive after practice Wednesday to talk about the new-look line.
“Guys are banged up at a few different positions, so we just have to rotate and see who fits best. As you know, it’s going to be a lot of rotating in the game so we’ll be comfortable with a few different guys around,” Paradis explained.
Amid that shuffling, Paradis has been the lone constant on the offensive line in Denver, having started every snap over each of the past two seasons.
“It is what it is. Obviously it would be easier if we had more continuity, but it’s just something that you roll with,” the veteran center mentioned. “There’s nothing we can change, so we just have to develop that chemistry quick and go.”
The biggest change to the line this season will be an added toughness in the reputation of the players across the front five. Paradis spoke about the difference this reputation can make.
“It’s a lot easier when you have [Menelik Watson, Garett Bolles, and Ron Leary] to back you up. It’s just a lot easier when you have those kinds of guys playing with you,” Paradis said.
