Being Peyton Manning‘s favorite wideout may be the best job in professional sports. Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne and Demaryius Thomas can attest to that. But after one of the most unconventional seasons any Super Bowl quarterback has ever had, the title of “Manning’s Favorite Wideout” may have taken a dramatic, unexpected turn.
While DT still leads the Broncos in nearly every statistical category, the one wideout Manning can’t stop talking about is practice squad receiver Jordan “Sunshine” Taylor.
Taylor, who joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Rice, hasn’t played a single snap for the Denver Broncos this year, but he’s caught plenty of passes from Peyton Manning; they’ve just all come on the practice field.
When Manning was rehabbing through the middle portion of the season, he couldn’t just grab any receiver off the Broncos roster and ask they to play catch; they were working with Brock Osweiler in preparation for that weekend’s game. So, instead, Manning grabbed young Taylor off the practice squad, brought him to the side, and had him run route after route after route.
Apparently, he did a heck of a job.
Peyton Manning talked about his indoor work with practice squad WR Jordan Taylor, AKA Sunshine: "Remember that name next year."

From that point on, Manning has continued to sing the praises of Taylor, hyping him up as Denver’s next big-time wide receiver. And before the Broncos shipped off to San Jose, No. 18 made sure “Sunshine” landed in style.
Peyton Manning had Jordan Taylor, his pregame receiver, fitted for a custom suit. Then he paid for it. Pretty cool.

Just in case you forgot, Peyton Manning is a class act. And if he believes that much in an undrafted, 23-year-old quarterback-turned-wideout from Rice, Broncos Country should too.
Don’t be surprised if Denver is wearing 87 jerseys this time next year.
