The Cincinnati Bengals (5-7) had no answers for Phillip Lindsay as the rookie sensation rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns for the Denver Broncos (6-6). Lindsay averaged 8.7 yards per carry and scored from distances of 6 yards and 65 yards in the 24-10 victory.
Including his figures in Sunday’s victory, the local product is the Broncos rookie to record 1,000 yards from scrimmage since Knowshon Moreno in 2009 (1,160).
Along with a dominant performance from No. 30, Denver’s defense forced three turnovers in the victory. The most crucial was a strip sack by Bradley Chubb on Bengals quarterback Jeff Driskel with only 2:49 remaining.
While it was not a particularly impressive passing day from Case Keenum, the veteran quarterback finished with zero interceptions for the fourth consecutive game. The 30-year old, first-year Broncos starter completed 12-of-21 pass attempts for 151 yards and a 30-yard touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton.
Sutton led the Broncos with four receptions for 85 yards and made a variety of impressive catches in the victory.
The Broncos will look to make it four consecutive victories when they travel to San Francisco on Dec. 9.
