Following the Denver Broncos’ dominant winย over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday,ย Pro Football Focus (PFF)ย has released grades from the game and their Preseason All-Rookie Team.

Two Denver Broncos rookies have been named to the Pro Football Focus Preseason All-Rookie Team. Quarterback Bo Nix and outside linebacker Jonah Elliss (62.5) were both recognized for their impressive performances during the preseason. Denver named Nix as their starting quarterback last week. He impressed analysts with his poise and decision-making during the preseason. Elliss, a versatile linebacker, also had a strong preseason, showcasing his ability to rush the passer and defend against the run.

With Nix sitting out in the final preseason game, Zach Wilson (91.4) outshined Jarrett Stidham (67.8). Wilson earned the team’s highest overall grade (91.4). Wilson completed 64% of his passes for 251 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. He also added 22 rushing yards. Stidham’s grade was significantly lower. All three quarterbacks made the Broncos’ final 53-man roster.

Many of the highest-graded players in Week 3 were victims to final roster cuts on Tuesday.

Center Sam Mustipher (82.0) earned the second-highest grade of any Broncos player but was among those released. Both his positional competitors, Luke Wattenberg and Alex Forsyth (67.4), made the team.

Brandon Johnson (86.0), who earned the top grade among wide receivers for the second time this preseason, was also released on Tuesday. Johnson caught a 46-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. This decision came despite his consistently strong performances and glimpses of potential throughout the preseason.

Jalen Virgil (71.5), Michael Bandy (70.7), and David Sills V (70.1) were the next highest-graded receivers, though none of them made the final roster. Bandy and Sills found themselves spots on the Broncos practice squad, while Virgil ended up on Buffalo’s practice squad.

Blake Watson (66.3) was the team’s best-graded running back. Tyler Badie (65.9) and Audric Estime (64.2) were not far behind. Both Watson and Estime secured their spots on the final roster, while Badie got a spot on the practice squad.

Linebacker Levelle Bailey’s exceptional performance was highlighted by his 94-yard interception return for a touchdown. This earned him the highest PFF grade among Broncos defenders. Meanwhile, Justin Strnad’s contributions, including five tackles and a forced fumble, helped him secure his spot as the team’s second-highest-rated defender.

For a third week, PFF highlighted rookie cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine (77.9). The fifth-round pick only allowed 16 yards on ten targets this preseason, earning himself a final roster spot.

Despite struggling to regain his form after a year-long suspension, Eyioma Uwazurike (48.0) managed to earn a spot on the final roster. His PFF grade was one of the lowest on the team against the Cardinals, but it didn’t deter the Broncos from recognizing his potential and keeping him on the roster.

The Broncos’ preseason was a showcase of their promising young talent, demonstrating their potential for a successful regular season. The team kicks off the season in Seattle on September 8th at 2:05 pm MST.
