Vance Joseph‘s decision on the starting quarterback will wait another day as the healing process continues for Paxton Lynch.
The need to see what Lynch can bring clearly is high priority for the Broncos, wanting to dedicate the final two precious weeks to develop Lynch, but with Brock Osweiler playing well and the calendar creeping closer to the Denver Broncos’ Christmas Eve matchup with the Washington Redskins. Joseph’s decision will need to come swift and soon.
Joseph spoke to the media Thursday, commenting on balancing the desire to win, along with the need to see Lynch. Mix in an ankle injury to complicate things and the decision has been more complex and different than he’d like.
“Brock played very well, but I said on Monday, it’s a different decision when it comes to the quarterback,” Joseph said.
“It’s about winning, absolutely, but it’s also about figuring out our future at the position. We want to win the game on Sunday, but we have to consider this football’s teams future at quarterback.”
