Aqib Talib, who suffered a gunshot wound in early June, is nearing a return to the field, and that’s good news for the Denver Broncos.
Confirming. #Broncos expect CB Aqib Talib to practice this week if passes physical. Backpedaled up berm. Ran lateral sprints in recent days

While Talib may still face a possible league suspension, the Broncos can officially check “complications from gunshot wound” off their worry board.
Talib is one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and this Broncos defense wouldn’t be the same without him. At this point, it’s easy to write his injury and rehab off as a minor roadblock, but that would be a massive misrepresentation.
The Pro-Bowl cornerback was shot; he’s lucky he has his life, let alone his leg.
As Chris Harris said earlier in training camp, Talib has been working his butt off to get back on the field, and luckily it looks like he’ll do just that this week.
