It’s been a rollercoaster morning trying to keep up with the latest news on Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson and the latest from Mike Klis of 9News is about as bad as Broncos fans could imagine.

According to Klis, Anderson will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and is likely headed to injured reserve.

Earlier in the morning NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that Anderson had been telling sources close to him that he was done for the year.

Shortly after that Anderson himself took to Twitter to deny the report, saying, “The false report that people have is crazy we would know later today what’s going on so please don’t believe these false allegations.”

Moments later Anderson had deleted the tweets on that topic and replaced them with one simply saying, “Tweets are deleted I will stay off social can’t let ppl get to me.”

Clearly it’s been a tough day for Anderson and will continue to be one for the Denver Broncos who are now left with only rookie Devontae Booker and third-year back Kapri Bibbs, who played in just one NFL game prior to this season, in their stable of running backs.

The obvious move will be to activate Juwan Thompson from the practice squad. Thompson played in 30 games with the Broncos in 2014 and 15, rushing for 320 yards on 72 attempts. All three of his career touchdowns came in 2014.
