Brock Osweiler‘s departure to Houston may have come as a surprise to most of Broncos country, but according to Jeff Darlington of NFL Network, it wasn’t much of a surprise to the Denver Broncos.
Broncos source: “This is not a surprise. It was clear to John (Elway) last week that (Osweiler) didn’t want to be here.”

After spending four years sitting behind Manning in Denver, and then getting benched for No. 18 on route to a Super Bowl championship, it was clear that Osweiler was not feeling very warm and fuzzy towards the Denver Broncos.
While much of Broncos Country had hoped a deal would get done, John Elway wasn’t going to pay top-10 quarterback money to a guy with just seven starts in his career, especially if he wasn’t showing a burning desire to don the orange and blue.
I’m told Osweiler was “very distant” during negotiations. showed Broncos he didn’t want to come back. Elway refused to play top 10 QB money.

Simply put, Osweiler was angry he was benched, at least that’s how it comes across.
Well, if that’s the case, good riddance. Have fun in Houston.
