Prior to their series-opening game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Colorado Rockies reinstated reliever Chris Rusin (left plantar fasciitis) from the 10-day disabled list, and optioned reliever Yency Almonte to Triple-A Albuquerque.

• Rusin, 31, was placed on the disabled list July 24, his second stint on the disabled list this season after being placed on the 10-day DL April 23 with a right intercostal strain … made three rehab appearances with Albuquerque and posted a 5.40 ERA (3.1 IP, 2 ER) with two walks and one strikeout … has gone 0-2 with a 6.81 ERA (39.2 IP, 30 ER), 20 walks and 34 strikeouts in 35 relief appearances this season … made a career-high 60 relief appearances in 2017, going 5-1 with a career-best 2.65 ERA (85.0 IP, 25 ER) … in 172 career appearances, including 49 starts, across parts of seven seasons with Chicago-NL (2012-14) and Colorado (2015-18), has gone 18-27 with two saves, a 4.57 ERA (449.1 IP, 228 ER), 143 walks and 325 strikeouts.
• Almonte, 24, has posted a 1.00 ERA (9.0 IP, 1 ER) in seven relief appearances across two stints with the Rockies since making his Major League debut on June 21 … has made 10 starts with Albuquerque this season, going 1-4 with a 5.65 ERA (336.2 IP, 23 ER) … in 110 career Minor League appearances, including 102 starts, has gone 36-34 with a 4.07 ERA (555.2 IP, 251 ER), 194 walks and 458 strikeouts … was acquired by the Rockies via trade with the Chicago White Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Tommy Kahnle, Nov. 24, 2015 … originally selected by Los Angeles-AL in the 17th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft.
