Per a team announcement Monday, the Colorado Rockies placed Seunghwan Oh on the 10-day injured list with a left abdominal strain. The ailment-related absence is the first of Oh’s major league career.

Before the injury, Oh appeared in 21 games for the club. In 18.1 innings, he allowed 19 earned runs and struck out 16.

The lack of success for the reliever dubbed, “The Final Boss,” has been a direct juxtaposition to his results last year. After being acquired at the trade deadline from the Toronto Blue Jays, Oh was one of the Rockies’ most consistent relievers.

In 25 appearances after he was acquired, Oh hurled 21.1 innings and allowed a mere six earned runs.

The current campaign figures to be the final one in the United States for Oh who is not only in the final year of his deal but has voiced a desire to finish his career in South Korea.

In Oh’s stead, Phillip Diehl was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. The left-handed reliever was originally acquired for Mike Tauchman prior to the season’s onset.

Between both Double-A Hartford and Albuquerque, Diehl has appeared in 23 games this season and pitched to the tune of a 2.30 earned run average. With the Isotopes, he allowed seven earned runs in 14 innings.

The promotion represents the first big league opportunity of Diehl’s career after he was originally drafted in the 27th round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the New York Yankees.

For the Yankees, Tauchman has played in 34 games this season due to an abundance of injuries for the club. In 95 at-bats, he’s hit .211 with four home runs.
