In 2007, the Colorado Rockies finished the regular season by winning 14 of 15 games to leap from fourth place in the NL West into what would eventually become their first and only World Series appearance. Mile High Sports celebrates the anniversary of ‘Rocktober’ by recapping each game from each of those days ten years ago.

ROCKIES 2, DODGERS 0
Despite a lethargic day for the Rockies’ hitters, the team put together two runs in the third inning and hold on through solid defense and pitching to win their 10th game in a row in a blisteringly fast game that lasted only two hours and 24 minutes.
The Rockies only collected five hits, with second baseman Kazuo Matsui and left fielder Matt Holiday making an RBI each. The Rockies had no multi-hit batters.
Starter Josh Fogg allowed five hits and six walks through six and two-thirds innings, including loading the bases on walks in the sixth, but didn’t surrender any runs to the Dodgers’ hitters. Relievers Jeremy Affeldt and Brian Fuentes connected with closer Manny Corpas, combining for only three more hits. The Dodgers stranded 10 runners in the effort, going 0-for-4 with runners in scoring position.
A win over the San Francisco Giants kept the San Diego Padres on pace to remain one game ahead of the Rockies in the NL wild-card race. The Rockies’ tenth win in a row gave them the series win against the Dodgers; they would have the chance to sweep yet another series the next day.
