The Denver Broncos enjoyed a huge win last Sunday and rookie cornerback Michael Ojemudia was an essential reason why.
Denver went into rival New England and turned up the pressure on the Patriots relentlessly. Those five and six-man rushes made quarterback Cam Newton uncomfortable in the pocket, sacking him four times and forcing two more interceptions.
But, maybe the most important turnover of the day came from Ojemudia, who ripped the ball from tight end Ryan Izzo and it was picked up by Justin Simmons.
Why it was so important was because Denver was ahead 15-3 at the time and New England had finally gained some steam. They were driving and made it to the Broncos’ 42 yard line before Ojemudia jumped on Izzo’s back and stripped the pigskin.
Not only did that end the Patriots’ drive, but it set Denver up with the ball and drove down to score a 20-yard field goal to extend their lead.
Ojemudia followed that up with yet another forced fumble, although that ball went out of bounds. He also enjoyed six total tackles and a defensed pass as well.
