Motivation can be found in many different areas. Money, passion, competition — just a few of the outlets that can inspire athletes to play at levels they’ve never reached before.
Denver Broncos safety Jamal Carter — who was an undrafted free agent coming out of college — joined Danny Williams and Benny Bash of Mile High Sports AM 1340 | FM 104.7 to discuss how the teams that looked past him in the draft gave him a chip on his shoulder that won’t be easily shaken.
“Definitely, that chip will forever be on my shoulder. Teams that looked past me and didn’t give me a shot,” Carter said. “They will forever feel that; that chip will forever be on my shoulder.”
Carter also spoke about his offseason, and the work he’s ready to put in after being motivated from watching teams in the playoffs. He knows the Broncos should be there, too.
“It’s going wonderful. I was in Miami, I visited my family, I had a good time. It was fun, but I’m ready to get back to the grind,” Carter said.
“Seeing all those teams in the playoffs — knowing that we’re better than those guys, that’s [where] we’re suppose to be. That kind of made me want it even more, so I’m ready to get back to the grind.”
