In 2016, the NFL started an event called, “My Cause My Cleats” where players will wear special cleats to represent a charity of their choosing, and then after the game, those cleats will be auctioned off to benefit said charity.

It’s that time a year again, and on Wednesday, the NFL unveiled the special cleats players across all 32 teams would be wearing, including the pairs the Broncos are wearing for their matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

To celebrate this wonderful charity event, let’s take a look at some of the frostiest Bronco cleats. Remember all of these items, as well as the countless other cleats I don’t have the room to showcase here, can be bid on and seen on the Denver Broncos website.

Every single player on the team has one, and they’re all unbelievably cool, so make sure you check them out there to help support several noble causes.

Jerry Jeudy, WR. Benefitting the Trisomy 18 Foundation.

Jerry Jeudy has chosen to represent a cause incredibly close to him, with his cleats representing the Trisomy 18 Foundation. Trisomy 18 is a genetic disorder that is caused by the existance of two extra 18th chromosomes, which can interfere with the development of the baby. Unfortunately, Trisomy 18 currently has no treatment and is fatal.

According to the Trisomy 18 Foundation, their mission it to, “Encourage the search for treatments and preventions of Trisomy 18, to educate and support medical professionals, and to create a caring community that embraces all families impacted by the Trisomy 18 diagnosis of a much-wanted child.”

The cause is one that must strike close to home for Jeudy, whose younger sister was diagnosed with Trisomy 18. Despite most diagnoses being fatal within the first year of life, Jeudy’s sister fought until the age of seven, when she died in 2016.

“She motivated me a lot through this whole process,” Jeudy said of his sister, to Denver’s ABC7 after the draft. “She battled adversity since the day she was born. Doctors said she wouldn’t make it past the age of four. With her fight and determination, she made it past 7. That gave me the drive to never be complacent and always stay driven.”

Jeudy’s cleats feature a beautiful electric pattern, with the name of the disorder on one cleat, and a mural of Jeudy’s younger sister alongside her name on the other.

Michael Ojemudia, CB. Benefitting Focus: HOPE and Detroit Impact

The rookies are bringing the heat with their cleat game this year, as Jeudy, Michael Ojemudia, Lloyd Cushenberry III, and the rest of the rookie class all have exceptionally nice cleats for this special weekend. Ojemudia’s cleats feature a gorgeous night-time, skyline pattern as well as the names of his charities and the word ‘Equality’ spray-painted on the toe.

Denver’s third-round rookie corner chose to benefit two different charities with his cleats, Focus: HOPE and Detroit Impact.

Focus HOPE says their mission is to, “Pledge intelligent and practical action to overcome racism, poverty, and injustice, and to build a metropolitan community where all people may live in freedom, harmony, trust and affection.”

Meanwhile, Detroit Impact, “Detroit Impact is a youth center established to work with the youth in our community to teach, mentor, guide, motivate, and encourage them.”

Ojemudia is originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, a suburb just 25 minutes away from downtown Detroit.

Von Miller, LB. Benefitting Von’s Vision.

The rookies may lead the pack, but veterans like Von Miller still know how to get it done in the cleat game. It’s a shame we won’t get to see Miller wearing these cleats that represent his charity, but it’s no surprise that the most-stylish Bronco has one of the most-stylish pairs of cleats.

The shoes feature an orange and blue-spotted design that also feature the name of Miller’s charity and the charity’s logo — Miller’s trademark glasses.

With Von’s Vision, Miller works to, “provide low-income Denver children with the eye care and corrective eyewear they need to be their best in the classroom and in life.”
