Sylvester Williams joined The Nosebleed Section to discuss the AFC Championship game versus the New England Patriots. After losing to the Broncos earlier in the season many Patriots fans felt that Denver lucked into that win, Williams said that wasn’t the case.
“We were without our quarterback, obviously one of the greatest of all time,” Williams continued “I just think they’re making a lot of excuses.”
Williams has been part of the best in the NFL this season and No. 92 isn’t shy about the effect Wade Phillips has had on this defense.
“The thing about Wade is he gives us the ability to just go play. We played the 2-gap scheme last year, where as this year we’re more of a penetrating one-gap defense. And, I think that helps us a lot more because it gives us the ability to get up field and make plays.”
