Tedric Thompson named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

For the second time this season, Tedric Thompson has been named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week.

In the Pac-12-South-clinching victory over Utah on Saturday, Thompson intercepted two passes, had four pass breakups, four tackles, three third down stops and a fourth down stop. His two interceptions brought his season total to seven, tied for most in a single season in CU history (Dick Anderson in 1967 and Cullen Bryant in 1972).

With this recognition, the Colorado Buffaloes have now earned nine Pac-12 Player of the Week awards this season, most in program history and most in the conference this year.

Behind Thompson, the Buffs held Utah to just 339 yards and secured their nation-best streak of forcing at least one turnover in 25 consecutive games.

Colorado will now go on to face No. 4 Washington for the Pac-12 Championship this Friday at Levi’s Stadium, the same stadium the Broncos won the Super Bowl in nearly 10 months ago.
