There was plenty of good and bad from Week 2 of Preseason for the Denver Broncos in their loss to the Chicago Bears 24-23 at Broncos Stadium at Mile High.
The Broncos saw production and moving of the sticks from their first team offense, exiting midway through the second quarter with the lead. On the latest Broncos Blitz podcast, podcast host Ronnie Kohrt chats about the good, the bad and the ugly.
While there was much positives on the offensive side of the football, including Royce Freeman, who capped off the first teams only touchdown drive with a four yard run, followed by a two-point conversation completed from Case Keenum to Jeff Heuerman. More positives were found in Emmanuel Sanders, Phillip Lindsay and Courtland Sutton.
The Broncos second team would then come in and shine as well. Chad Kelly once again played his second strong game in a row. Kelly went 7/9 for 90 yards and a touchdown.
But then came the bad. Paxton Lynch once again had a dreadful day, running out onto the field to a chorus of boos from the Broncos faithful. Lynch would fail to be effective for Denver and never established a rhyme throughout the rest of the game.
The Broncos once again struggled in the secondary as depth continually had issues covering not only receivers, but tight end’s effectively as Chase Daniel shredded the Broncos secondary for 189 yards and two touchdowns.
