The Denver Broncos running game has been atrocious to start this season, that’s no secret. Even worse than that have been the Chicago Bears as a whole. Tuesday the Bears traded away defensive end Jared Allen, and now it is being speculated that running back Matt Forte is on the trading block.
While trading Forte to the Broncos might seem like something that would only happen in fantasy football, Eric Goodman and Zach Fogg debated whether or not the Broncos should actually consider doing it.
“Are you a better team with Matt Forte,” Goodman asked, “because Manning’s window is Manning’s window.”
“He’s not more than a rental player,” Fogg argued. “He doesn’t really have a future in the Gary Kubiak system because he’s not a Gary Kubiak type of running back, he caught 100 balls out of the backfield last year, that’s not really what they do.”
