On a night when the Denver Nuggets needed him, Tim Hardaway Jr. answered the call.
Cam Johnson struggled due to injuries, foul trouble, and general discomfort. Christian Braun struggled finishing around the rim and making a defensive impact vs a bigger Minnesota Timberwolves front line. The Nuggets wouldn’t been in trouble last season without the optionality they have this season.
Of course, Hardaway Jr. stepped up like the veteran he is, putting up 20 points and three assists in over 30 minutes off the bench. Hardaway changed the flow of the game with his shotmaking, spacing, and veteran savvy on both ends of the floor. The Nuggets needed it too. They probably lose without Hardaway’s scoring punch, even though Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic were also great.
On the latest episode of Pickaxe and Roll, Ryan blackburn breaks down the Denver Nuggets 127-114 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves, highlighted by Jamal Murray’s 43-point outburst. He goes over some other details of the win as well, including a unique rotation from David Adelman.
