Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall just signed a four-year, $32 million dollar contract this offseason, with $20 million in guarantees.
That, to the vast majority of us, is a lot of money. When looking at the money middle-of-the-road NBA players are earning this offseason, though, it’s nothing.
Marshall even went so far as to ask whether the Nuggets were looking for some new blood to sign …
These NBA dudes gettin chipped off! 💰…. Y'all need some help @nuggets ? 👀

We are now in the midst of the highest-paying free agency period in NBA history with players like former Nuggets center, Timofey Mozgov, getting a brand new four-year deal worth $64 million to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. Mozgov averaged 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds during the regular season, and only 1.2 points a game, while only playing 5.8 minutes a game, in the post season.
Demaryius Thomas, a pro bowl receiver and one of the best in the league, gets paid a mere $15 million a year. What about JJ Watt? Watt is only making $667,000 more than Mozgov, yearly, and he is arguably the best defensive player we’ve seen in the past decade. How much more does MVP Cam Newton make than Mozgov? Only $4 million.
The other Broncos threat at wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, is asking for $12 million a year, and we were questioning if he even deserved it.
The take away from all this: Put a basketball in your kid’s hand and force them to grow a couple inches.
