The Denver Nuggets front office is seemingly all in on free agent guard Dwyane Wade, and if he does decide to come play in the Mile High City, his future backcourt mates could not be happier to have the three-time champion in their presence.
“He’s one of the greats,” Gary Harris said. “I know our front office is doing what they can to make this team the best it can be.”
And Wade absolutely would make this team better, now and in the future. Not just because he’s a future Hall of Famer, but he has the ability, experience and leadership to help tach this young Nuggets’ roster how to become professionals — and winners.
“It’d be good,” Jamal Murray said with a smile. “Dwyane Wade coming in, mentoring all the young guys on this team … It’d be great. We would all benefit.”
Emmanuel Mudiay went so far as to say that he’d personally reach out to Wade to recruit him to Denver.
The Nuggets have been linked to Wade for days now, and after offering him a two-year, $50-plus million deal last night, the two sides met this morning in New York.
The Nuggets need a jolt to put this team back on the map, and with all the young talent the Nuggets have on tap, adding a Hall of Fame-caliber player in Wade would certainly help the franchise on and off the court.
