Superstar center Nathan MacKinnon left the Avalanche game against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday following a hit at center ice. MacKinnon absorbed a hit from Boston’s Taylor Hall but brunt of the damage came from his own stick which went up into his face.
MacKinnon was down and bloodied on the ice as the officials reviewed the call and deemed it a two-minute minor for interference. The initial call was a five-minute major.
