In the third quarter of the Denver Broncos’ matchup with the New York Jets, Broncos linebacker Von Miller recorded his first sack of the game, reaching 10 sacks on the season for the sixth time in his career. Miller is the first player in Broncos in history to accomplish the feat.
Miller has reached the double-digit sack mark in six of his seven seasons in the NFL. He failed to reach that mark only in 2013, when his season was shortened due to suspension.
Miller, who came into Sunday with 82.5 career sacks, is solely in second place on the Broncos all-time sacks list, behind Simon Fletcher‘s 97.5. Miller passed Karl Mecklenburg for solo second place earlier this season.
Fletcher reached double-digit sacks in five consecutive seasons (1989-93), recording a career-high 16.0 in 1992. Miller set a franchise record with 18.5 in 2012.
The No. 2 overall draft pick in 2011, Miller is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. He has 6.5 sacks in the playoffs, five coming in 2015 including 2.5 in his Super Bowl 50 MVP performance.
