On the eve of Denver Broncos training camp Broncos president and CEO Joe Ellis spoke with Nate Lundy of 5280 Sports Network about the stadium name, Pat Bowlen’s health and Von Miller’s return to the team after a protracted contract negotiation process, among other topics. Ellis says the Broncos’ stadium will eventually have a new corporate sponsor name once the bankruptcy process with Sports Authority are completed.
He’s happy to report that owner Pat Bowlen’s health is as good as can be expected given his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He also gave an update on the ownership situation.
Von Miller was the hot topic of the offseason and the reigning Super Bowl MVP will have big expectations to go with his big new contract. Ellis spoke on whether or not Miller has now assumed the “Face of the Franchise” mantle in Peyton Manning’s absence.
