Nate Lundy and Shawn Drotar of 5280 Sports Network were at Broncos HQ on Monday as Gary Kubiak announced Trevor Siemian the Week 1 starter earlier in the day.
Kubiak told the collected media that he intends to have Paxton Lynch play the entire Preseason Week 4 game against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday, meaning Mark Sanchez could be cut as early as Tuesday. The Broncos can’t afford to risk injury with Sanchez, as his contract would become guaranteed if he were injured in what is now for him a meaningless preseason game.
Kubiak also gave some insight about how the team took the news when Siemian was named the starter.
