It looked for a time that Von Miller’s critical third-down sack on Cam Newton would be for naught. Miller recorded his first sack of the night on what looked like it would be the game-sealing third down stop, setting up a fourth-and-20 with the Broncos nursing a 21-20 lead.
Cam never had a chance…@MillerLite40 gets to him no time at all.
This looks familiar. 🤔 #Kickoff2016 https://t.co/Y36puPdxug

A hands to the face penalty on Chris Harris on the fourth down, however, gave Carolina second life with time remaining on the clock. Cam Newton got the Panthers within field goal range, but Graham Gano pulled the potential game-winning field goal wide left.
Miller’s sack was a nice reminder to Broncos fans of his MVP performance in Super Bowl 50 when he had 2.5 sacks, including two strip sacks, of Newtwon.
