We’ve spent the last month breaking down which draft prospects could make the most sense for the Broncos at each position, but the one pick everybody is most interested in is No. 31, Denver’s first.
They could go in several directions, most notably quarterback, but the options are numerous. And if you look at the hundreds of mock drafts around the web, that’s reflected in their predictions.
SBNation actually did an awesome breakdown of which players are most commonly attached to which teams in mock drafts around the web, and here’s what they found for the Broncos:
Those five players all make a lot of sense, but Paxton Lynch likely stands out as the most appealing. While there’s a growing sentiment that he’ll be gone well before the Broncos come on the board at No. 31, if he does manage to slip, Denver is sure to pounce.
Connor Cook is an interesting option, too, as he’s likely one of the most NFL-ready quarterbacks in this year’s draft; his ceiling, though, is not as high as those projected to go before him.
But it’s that 38.8 percent which may be the most interesting. With less than a week until the draft, there’s no consensus on whom John Elway will end up taking with his first pick. In fact, there’s probably a good chance he doesn’t even end up selecting at No. 31, trading back for more assets instead.
Either way, it’s sure to be an interesting night in Broncos Country.
