Who does Vegas expect the Broncos to draft in the 1st round?

We are now less than two weeks away from the NFL Draft, and we’re starting to get a pretty clear idea of what to expect come draft day.

Some of that is thanks to the draft odds Vegas has continued to update throughout the process, which can help us boil down all the noise.

As of now, the oddsmakers out in the desert are expecting the Broncos to select a quarterback. Specifically, either Ohio State’s Justin Fields or North Dakota State’s Trey Lance.

As of now, both Betfred Sports and DraftKings have Denver as the favorite to select Lance in this year’s draft, though to be fair, DraftKings has them tied with San Francisco as the favorite landing spot.

Speaking of San Francisco, the Broncos were once the favorites to land Ohio State’s Justin Fields, but the 49ers are now viewed as the most likely landing spot for his services now.

However, the Broncos aren’t out of the race for Fields yet according to Betfred Sports, who has Fields as the player with the second-best odds to be selected by Denver with their first pick of the draft at +400 (Alabama cornerback Patrick Surtain II is the favorite at +300). Lance and Northwestern tackle Rashawn Slater aren’t far behind though at +500.

Betfred’s love for Surtain might have to do with the fact they think it’s most likely the Broncos target a cornerback with their first pick of the draft (+200) though the odds of selecting a quarterback come in a close second (+225).

However, DraftKings and BetMGM think it’s much more likely the Broncos select a quarterback with their first selection of the draft.

DraftKings has Denver’s odds of selecting a quarterback listed at +115, making it the favorite. The odds of selecting a cornerback (+500) for DraftKings ranks fourth among the position groups behind linebacker (+300) and offensive lineman (+400).

BetMGM has Denver’s odds of selecting quarterback listed at -130, which makes it an even heavier favorite than it is at DraftKings. Here, the cornerback position is tied as the third-favorite option with linebacker at +550, just barely behind the offensive line at +500.
