Safety Will Parks is still soaring high after being drafted by the defending Super Bowl champions, and after two preseason games, he’s still just enjoying the ride.
“I’m just back there taking it all in, soaking it in,” Parks told Nate Lundy and Shawn Drotar on Mile High Sports Radio. “Do all the necessary things, all the little things, to make sure the big things happen”
But big things have already happened for Parks. He’s in the unique position where he gets to play with “The No Fly Zone” from day one, and he couldn’t be happier to learn from the best secondary in the NFL.
“You got a whole bunch of hungry DBs back there that will make anything possible. With the ability to do that day in and day out, it’s awesome,” Parks said. “(They’re) four different types of players, but when they play together, they’re one player.”
Nonetheless, Parks is still a rookie, and he understands his position on the team. The same goes for his fellow rookie teammate, Justin Simmons. The duo knows that in order to make it onto the field, they need to be knockouts. To Parks, Simmons is an asset, a buddy since day one.
“We’ve been roommates since we’ve first started,” Parks said of Simmons. “The chemistry is getting better and better with us both being back there at the same time.”
With two preseason games down and two to go, Parks has time to continue to make a name for himself. Despite all his hard work thus far, he knows there’s a long road ahead of him.
