Tickets for the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown between Colorado State and Colorado will go on sale Wednesday, July 12. The Rams and Buffaloes will kick off at Sports Authority Field in Denver on Friday, Sept. 1, at 6 p.m. MT. The game will be televised nationally on Pac-12 Networks.
This year’s Showdown will be the 17th to be played in Denver since the rivalry series shifted to the Mile High City as its primary home in 1998. The Rams and Buffaloes have played 88 times in the series.
Single-game ticket pricing for the Rocky Mountain Showdown start at $35. Colorado State University students may purchase their tickets at the special student price of $20. Students will receive information in early August on how to purchase their Rocky Mountain Showdown tickets online.
Attendance for the Rocky Mountain Showdown has increased in each of the past five seasons. Last year’s attendance of 69,850 was the highest total in the series since 2003 (76,219), and the 34,167 tickets purchased by Colorado State fans marked an increase for the fourth year in a row.
Season tickets and three-game mini-plans for Colorado State’s 2017 season also remain on sale. The seven-game season-ticket package, which includes the Rocky Mountain Showdown and all six home games at the on-campus stadium, starts at $225. Mini-plan pricing starts at $94, depending on the games chosen for a particular three-game plan. Packages that include the stadium grand-opening game vs. Oregon State or the Rocky Mountain Showdown will be priced higher based on the single-game pricing for those contests. For more information, please consult the 2017 Colorado State Football ticket pricing chart. To learn more, or to purchase tickets, fans may contact the Rams Sales Team at 800-491-RAMS (7267) or visit www.CSURams.com/tickets.
The Rams will open their 41,000-capacity on-campus stadium Aug. 26 when Pac-12 foe Oregon State visits Fort Collins for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff. Single-game tickets for all games will begin with an exclusive pre-sale opportunity July 24 for alumni, faculty and staff, and to all on July 26.
The 2017 Rams, under the direction of third-year head coach Mike Bobo, return 15 starters including three 2016 All-Mountain West performers: Wide receiver Michael Gallup (first team), center Jake Bennett (second team) and quarterback Nick Stevens (honorable mention). Gallup was recently named preseason fourth-team All-America by Phil Steele, while Bennett was named to the watch list for the 2017 Rimington Trophy, awarded annually to the nation’s top center. The trio also joined nine other teammates in receiving preseason All-MW recognition for 2017 by Athlon Sports.
