Right before the Denver Broncos offseason program came to an end, the plan was for Jarrett Stidham to host a group of the team’s offensive players for week-long workouts in Dallas, Texas. That process has begun as Stidham, Bo Nix, and a handful of receivers, running backs, and tight ends all got together.
Denver Broncos QBs get together for offseason work
Despite Stidham and Nix competing with one another for the team’s starting QB job, the veteran QB and lone returner from last season’s position room has done whatever he can to be of service to Nix as well.
“I was fortunate enough—my rookie year, I was competing with [QB] Brian Hoyer for the backup job in New England behind [former NFL QB] Tom [Brady],” Stidham said back in OTAs. “‘Hoy’ had been in the system for seven or eight years and he did nothing but help me. I want to help these guys learn as much as they can. Like I said, I’m the vet in the room, so anything that I’ve been up on over the years, I tell those guys. Certain little thoughts or tricks I have, I share them. At the same time, we’re all in it together, and we’re all competing. That’s what we have to do.”

Players like Adam Trautman, Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Michael Burton, Tim Patrick, Courtland Sutton, Jaleel McLaughlin, Jalen Virgil, Michael Bandy, Marvin Mims, and David Sills V joined Stidham and Nix for throw sessions. It’s unclear if Zach Wilson, the other quarterback involved in the ongoing position battle, was present.
With rookies set to report next week for the start of training camp, both of the quarterbacks who have stood out so far throughout OTAs and minicamp get a little bit more time before official practices begin to get in work with the potential options they’ll be throwing to this upcoming season.
