While Gary Kubiak may have listed Mark Sanchez and Trevor Siemian as co-starters on yesterday’s depth chart, he had to come to a more definitive decision before Thursday’s preseason opener against the Bears — technically, only one quarterback can actually start at any given moment — and it looks as if he’s made that choice.
#Broncos say QB Mark Sanchez is expected to start and play 1st quarter, while Trevor Siemian is expected to play the second quarter Thursday

To be expected.
While Siemian has definitely gained ground in the quarterback competition, Sanchez has the clear advantage, and the Broncos will continue to give him every opportunity to grab ahold of the job for good.
But if he falters, even just a bit, the leash will be short; Siemian is on his heels.
