The Denver Broncos have made several roster moves ahead of Sunday’s season finale against the Las Vegas Raiders. What do these roster moves mean for Sunday’s game?
Denver Broncos place offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey on injured reserve
After initially being ruled out on Friday for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, the Denver Broncos placed veteran offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey on injured reserve. With Denver’s season being over following Sunday’s game anyway, this move allows the team to maneuver a few roster spots.
Before McGlinchey’s roster designation, Denver had 52 players on the active roster after they placed safety Delarrin Turner-Yell on injured reserve earlier this week. McGlinchey’s designation freed up another spot.
The Broncos promoted practice squad cornerback and undrafted rookie free agent Art Green to the active roster and officially activated fellow undrafted rookie free agent Alex Palczewski to the roster from injured reserve.
Green has been on Denver’s practice squad all season and has been considered a standout player for them on the scout team all season long. Palczewski has been on the team’s injured reserve list all season long but was designated to return two weeks ago.
Veteran Cam Fleming will start at right tackle on Sunday, and Palczewski will be considered the swing backup for him and Garett Bolles.
Denver also elevated practice squad safety Devon Key, another player who has been with Denver all season long and has helped with scout team looks. There’s a chance that Key and Green get the opportunity to play special teams snaps on Sunday as the Broncos look to close out their season.
After Sunday’s game, everybody is bracing for what’s expected to be an offseason full of change once again in Broncos Country.
