The Denver Broncos were busy last night. They inked not one, but two members of their eight-man 2017 NFL Draft class.
The Broncos announced that they signed tight end Jake Butt, whom they selected in the fifth round (145th overall). According to Nicki Jhabvala of the Denver Post, the four-year deal is worth a total of $2.7 million.
They have also signed defensive end DeMarcus Walker. According to Jhabvala, he will receive a signing bonus of $1.8 million on his four-year contract, which is worth a total of $5.1 million. Selected by the Broncos in the second round (51st overall), he was an All-American last season.
Considered one of the top tight end prospects in this year’s draft, Butt saw his stock fall due to tearing his ACL. According to Broncos head coach Vance Joseph, he is expected to recover in time to participate in training camp.
The only player from the Broncos’ draft class that has yet to sign is Carlos Henderson, a wide receiver was selected in the third round (82nd overall) out of Lousiana Tech.
