Charlie Blackmon is one of the most exciting outfielders in professional baseball. Known for his steady bat and keen defense, Blackmon is one of the most dynamic two-way outfielders in the game today.
Just a couple of games ago, Blackmon etched his name into the Rockies history books by hitting an inside-the-park-homerun in the same inning that fellow teammate Trevor Story belted a grand slam. It was the first time in 43 years that such a feat had been accomplished in the National League.
Fast-forward two games and Blackmon has found his way back into the record books.
In the first inning of the Rockies Sunday matinee against the San Fran Giants, Blackmon smacked a leadoff triple, his second leadoff triple in two games. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Blackmon is just the third Rockie to hit a leadoff triple in back-to-back games, joining Neifi Perez and Eric Young.
Per Elias, Charlie Blackmon third Rockie to hit a leadoff triple in consecutive games. Also: Neifi Perez, 9/14-15/99; Eric Young, 5/9-12/93.
