“My Cause, My Cleats” is an awesome, new initiative by the league in which players get to design and wear cleats for one game, celebrating a cause that is near and dear to them.
According to the NFL, more than 800 players are participating this year, showcasing the custom cleats on their feet during the upcoming Week 13 games. Causes range from health and wellness, to social justice, to mental health and much, much more.
“Our players are passionate supporters of many charitable causes and serve as changemakers in their communities,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell via NFL.com. “We are excited to build upon last year’s success and work with our players to expand this unique platform that enables them to raise awareness for causes they support.”
Then, after wearing the cleats during this week’s games, the players have the option of auctioning off the game-worn items, with 100 percent of the money going towards their selected cause.
Here’s a look at the Broncos players’ causes, with their cleats pictured below:
And now, we take a look at some of these players’ cleats. They’re basically all works of art, done by various artists across the country.
