According to Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, the universities of Colorado and Missouri have agreed to play each other in a home-and-home series.

The first meeting between the former conference rivals will take place in Boulder in 2025, and the the second will be in Columbia, MO., in 2030. The latter of the two non conference games will be 40 years after the infamous ‘fifth down game’ on Oct. 6, 1990 when officials mistakenly granted No. 9 CU a fifth offensive down on the Buffaloes’ game-winning series. CU won the game, 33-31, and eventually went on to split a National Championship with Georgia Tech.

As noted by Brian Howell of Buffzone.com, the 2025 matchup between the Buffs and Tigers likely eliminates any chance of facing Colorado State that season. As it currently stands, CU is slated to face Georgia Tech, Houston and Missouri during the 2025 non conference potion of the schedule.

In total, the Buffs have agreed to face four SEC opponents, six BIG-10 opponents and three BIG-12 opponents between 2020 and 2030.
