For baseball fans, it has been a long time coming since the last professional game in November. Now, with Spring Training and the World Baseball Classic underway, they have their choice of the lot. Although they are in the midst of their Spring Training, the Colorado Rockies have sent three players to the classic: Nolan Arenado (Team USA), Jake McGee (Team USA) and Carlos Gonzáles (Venezuela).

The World Baseball Classic is an international baseball tournament, featuring players from around the world competing on behalf of their countries. The tournament is sanctioned by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), and is also supported by the likes of Major League Baseball and the Players Association.
This year’s competition will feature 16 teams, including the Dominican Republic who went undefeated on their way to winning the 2013 World Baseball Classic championship. The tournament will take place at six different venues: Seoul, Tokyo, Miami, Jalisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.
Although the Rockies will be without Arenado, McGee and González, they are still set to play the Cincinnati Reds on Friday, March 10.
