The Denver Nuggets finally looked like the team everyone expected them to be in their 129-111 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. The win bumped Denver’s record back to .500 on the season at 4-4.
The Nuggets started off hot with a spark from All-Star Paul Millsap, who accounted for 13 of Denver’s first 18 points. From there, the Nuggets kept the pressure on with Millsap, Jamal Murray, and Gary Harris all recording double-digit points en route to the win.
Murray had 24 points on the night, his third consecutive game with 20-plus points.
Big man Nikola Jokic was two points shy of a triple-double, recording eight points, 10 assists, and 16 rebounds.
Denver was strong in two vital aspects: rebounding and turnovers. The Nuggets outrebounded the Raptors 43-38 and only committed 12 turnovers on the night.
Wednesday night’s victory was the first of six games Denver will play on their 11-day homestand, and the Miami Heat are up next. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. MST Friday.
